The only improvement would be a miter slot adapter. My cuts are like glass now. I mounted the unit to a board with an Incra Miter Slider, which worked well. This was a good set. I was able to use it in setting up new table saw to fine tune miter slot to blade and then miter slot to fence.
Very pleased overall, although it is hard to get things tight by hand and I often had to use other tools to tighten the holders down. You can buy half of the product at Sears for about twice as much.
You can't ding the tool because you tighten it like you have a pipe wrench when your dealing with a fine instrument that works in thousandths. And they are just as accurate and fragile. BE GENTLY, like its its first time. I've noticed a lot of the complaints here are they over tightened and broke it. its a great tool for the money I have Starretts and a couple low cost ones.
I bought some JB Weld to fix it but I probably should have spend a little bit more money and got a quality product. One of the arms broken before I could even get to use it.
I would recommend this. Good magnet power. I was impressed with the quality of this produce. Every thing is heavy duty.
